Human Resource Requirements for District Health Services, South Africa

In partnership with Pricewaterhouse Coopers (PwC), Health Partners Southern Africa assisted the new metro to consolidate health care services of four local authorities.


We conducted the review of the District Health Service provision which included the utilisation and needs of Primary Health Care (PHC) as well as access to its 24hour service.


On the basis of this review, Health Partners Southern Africa carried out a data and situational analysis. This informed the development of a uniform approach to human resource planning for the delivery of a core package of PHC.


We were also in charge of creating generic job descriptions for all post categories for the core PHC package and developed detailed staff establishments for all concerned institutions.
